Academic Centers

Maintaining the Academics Center website is one of my university jobs. I oversaw the redesign of this website in 2003, creating site maps, sketching possible web designs, and then finally creating the entire look of the website in HTML. Over the winter for about 50 to 60 hours, I completely redesigned their pages; it went live in January 2003, and received much acclaim from supervisors and students alike. However, the number of HTML pages has climbed past the 300 mark. The website is fully static, and its back-end mainly consists of a few cobbled-together Python and Perl scripts. The design, overall, is visually intrusive. It also does not conform to the latest W3C recommendations. A redesign is currently underway that addresses some of these issues. I plan on conducting full usability testing and quantitative survey techniques to make the best possible product.
